Financial Analyst

 

POSITION PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst is responsible for multiple accounting tasks such as financial modeling and reporting, forecasting, tax and liability analysis, commissions reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, liquidity management, and journal entry posting.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Responsible for weekly and monthly financial reports.
  • Responsible for the month-end closing process.
  • Preparing financial models and reports for review with executive team and private equity sponsor.
  • Preparing models and forecasts for due diligence in potential M&A activities.
  • Ensure commission information is accurately reflected in the database.
  • Partnering with accounting staff to analyze and reconcile commission payments in Quickbooks.
  • Prepare quarterly data report for each salesperson/team of their policies under management.
  • Coordinate the Accounts Payable process for all companies.
  • Prepare and disburse year-end tax statements, such as 1099’s.
  • Maintain detailed cash flow report on a daily basis.
  • Data processing via 3rd party system (Paycom) and reconciling payroll taxes and benefits.
  • Increase automation of accounting tasks and reporting.
  • Monitor outstanding loans, AP, and AR to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, will consider 4 years or more experience in a similar accounting function.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and commissions-based revenue and expense recognition.
  • Significant background in working with accounting software to manage tasks. Quickbooks experience is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling, etc.).
  • Tax preparation and analysis experience is a plus.
  • Able to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation.
  • Able to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Able to maintain organization in a changing environment.
  • Able to maintain a flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate independently.
  • Identifying problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information.
  • Prioritizing and planning tasks efficiently.
